Apple Lacing Card

Hello. Today I'm posting over on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog. Here is a fun project I made for my daughter. I used to have these lacing project kits when I was young. I loved them a lot. I haven't seen many of these kinds of things around so I decided to make my own for my children to use. I am going to laminate it so it will last longer too.

I think it turned out pretty fun. The apple is from Create a Critter and is cut at 3.75 inches, I stamped the Everyday Character Faces 1.75" size set for the face. Then I laced some ribbon through my apple. I hope you have a fantastic day! Hugs- Glora

Happy Bird-ay!

Here is a more detailed look at my last card from the Peachy Keen Stamps and Core'dinations Blog Hop.

The card base comes from the Create a Critter cartridge sized at 4.25 x 5.5". The background rectangle was hand cut at 3.5" x 4.75". This cute birthday bird is from 3 Birds on Parade. I cut her at 3.75". The sentiment for this card come from the June 2012 Stamp Kit of the Month by Peachy Keen Stamp. The little eye for the bird came from the Baby Animal Faces stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps. All of the papers are Core'dinations. I embossed the orange background with the Number Collage CuttleBug embossing folder and sanded it with the Core'dinations Sander. I inked all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and I also added a lot of faux stitching with my Sakura GellyRoll Pen.

Here is yet another card, in more detail, from the Peachy Keen Stamps and Core'dinations Blog Hop.

The card base comes from the Create a Critter cartridge sized at 4.25 x 5.5". The background rectangle was hand cut at 3.5" x 4.75". Simply Crafts - Sunshine Cut

Hi friends. It is once again the first Wednesday of the month and time for another Simply Crafts Challenge. I chose the cut this month and I picked the sunshine from the Create-a-Critter cartridge. Sorry that I've picked from that cartridge a few times but it is one of my all time favorites. It just has SO much packed into it. If you would like to join in on our challenge this month go to the Simply Crafts Challenge blog HERE to learn more and to link your project up.

I made a shape card for my project.

I used my Gypsy to weld two sunshines together (5.5" each). And then I cut an extra base layer so that I could cover the fold. The pretty polka dot paper is by Doodlebug Design called Petite Prints. I had an awesome friend send it to me and I'm using every little scrap of it, I just LOVE it that much! I inked all the edges and did faux stitching as well. The BEAUTIFUL happy face is by Peachy Keen Stamps and is called 4" Happy Lashes - Open Mouth. I used some Glossy accents on part of her eyes and her nose. The sweet little 'SMILE' sentiment is from My Creative Time's Turn That Frown Upside Down stamp set. I chalked the cheeks in an orange/yellow shade. And added a sheer ribbon bow.  I definitely hope this card will make someone SMILE!

Pam has got a beautiful card using this cut and some BEAUTIFUL dots and stripes paper (I already sneaked a peek), so make sure you stop on over and see the details on how she made her card HERE. And if you want to join the Simply Crafts Challenge click HERE.

Have a sunshiny day! Hugs- Glora

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #14 - Color Inspiration

*** If you are looking for the My Creative Time April Release Blog Hop scroll down or click HERE ***

Hello Peachy Keen fans and welcome to another Color Inspiration Challenge. Isn't this a fun and bright color combination? The brightly colored balloons are what started me off on my take on this challenge.

I always need birthday cards and I wanted another excuse to use the new Here Kitty Kitty face stamps so this is what I came up with.

I used the April SKOTM for the sentiment. I did LOTS of inking on EVERYTHING and added lots of little faux stitching. I accented the hat with a little pearl and the balloons with some twine strings.

I hope you are having a terrific day and I hope you will be able to come and play in the Color Inspiration Challenge with us. Make sure to check out the PKS Challenge blog so you can see what everyone came up with. These ladies are AMAZING! Hugs- Glora

Simply Crafts Challenge for March

Hi and welcome to another Simply Crafts Challenge. It is the first Wednesday of the month so this is the day that Pam and I choose a Cricut cut to make a project with. I chose the cut this month and it is the kite from the Create a Critter cartridge (it is on the same key as the giraffe). The past several months we have let you all join in the fun. If you would like to check out the details of this month's challenge and play along click HERE.

I made a long card to fit inside a business size envelope. I cut 3 of the sweet little kites (using beautiful paper my friend gave me by Doodlebug Designs). I added twine for the tails of the kites. The cute little faces are all from the Snow Cuties stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps. The darling sentiments come form two different stamp sets by My Creative Time. The top sentiment comes from Emma's Color Me Happy stamp set and the bottom one is from her most recent release Hello Spring. The tiny little butterflies are made with a paper punch, by EK Success, that I've had for years.

Don't forget to drop by Pam's blog to see the details for her kite project. Click HERE to go to her blog. And if this sounds like a fun challenge and you want to join in hop on over to the Simply Crafts Challenge blog HERE. Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs- Glora

Happy Leap Day... I'm JUMPING FOR JOY!!!

Happy Leap Day 2012!!!! This is my first time blogging during a leap year, so I had to have a post go up today. I also have some fun PERSONAL news to share at the end of this post if you are interested. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to do a cute little frog card to represent LEAP DAY and my happy news too.

This is a shape card that I made using my Gypsy. I used the frog from the Paisley cartridge because it looks like he is ready to jump or leap. The lilly pad is from the Create-a-Critter cartridge. That super cute frog face is from a Peachy Keen Stamps set called Baby Animal Faces 3". And the awesome sentiment is from My Creative Time's Just a Little Note to Say. I think it is perfect for this card!

As for the PERSONAL news I wanted to share the reason why I'm 'jumping for joy'. I'm happy to finally share with all of you that my husband and I are going to be having a baby BOY! We have two very sweet girls and are very happy to be adding a little boy to our family at the beginning of the summer. YAY! We are SO super EXCITED (JUMPING FOR JOY)! I also want to share a link to the sweet card that my Crafting Bestie Pam sent to me when she learned of the happy news. Click HERE to see her card. She is quite the enabler because now I think that I NEED the cartridge she used for this card. If any of you know where I can find the 9 Months Cricut Lite cartridge for LESS than $40, will you PLEASE let me know. Have a terrific LEAP day and I hope you find something to JUMP for JOY about today! Huge Hugs- Glora

Peachy Keen Stamps - March Stamp of the Month Sneak Peek

Hello sweet crafty friends. Today I have a project to share using the March 2012 Stamp of the Month stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps. If you like gnomes you are going to LOVE this set. Oh and the add on sets, they coordinate beautifully and perfectly.

When I saw this sentiment I just had to make up this card for my husband. You see he never tells me what he wants for his birthday and when I ask him he will usually end up saying something like buy some more stamps for yourself or something (which I don't do, I ALWAYS find him something that he will enjoy, but he will love this card because of the inside joke). Anyway, here it is:

Anyway, how fun is that? The stump, door and windows, mushroom, sentiment and gnome girl are all on this awesome new set (plus LOTS of other stuff). Make sure to check out the Peachy Keen blog for more sneaks of these stamps! They will be available for purchase on Saturday at 8am EST. Until then we will have lots of fun sneaks for you to look at and enjoy on the PKS blog! Hugs- Glora

MCT February Release Sneak Peek Day #3

Happy Wednesday and welcome to day 3 of sneak peeks of the February stamp release over at My Creative Time. Aren't you loving these sets so far? They are ADORABLE! I'm totally in love with every single stamp, I think Emma REALLY outdid herself this time.

Today, I think you will see some pretty classy and beautiful projects, mine however, is a little on the fun side of things. I saw these darling egg dies that come with this Hello Spring set and my mind starting thinking of all sorts of possibilities with them. They are going to be USED a lot this year I'm certain. One of the fun and crazy ideas was to make some little 'EGG' people and so here is my egg people card.

I know they are silly, but I LOVE them! I can't help it they make me SMILE. The beautiful stitched egg is the die that comes with the Hello Spring set and the darling flower and swirl patterns on the eggs are stamps that come with this set and coordinate perfectly with this die. The perfect sentiment for my egg card is from the Happy Hunting stamp set that we showcased on Monday. I stamped the sentiment onto Emma's Stitched Oval Die. The cute hands and legs for these eggs come from the February 2012 Stamp of the Month by Peachy Keen Stamps and the faces are also by Peachy Keen Stamps - Simple Simons and Simple Sallies. I cut the grass from Everyday Paper Dolls and the clouds from Create a Critter.

Pin the Bee on the Flower Game

Hello crafting friends! Sorry it has been so long since my last post, life has just been BUSY! I did want to share with you a game that I put together for my daughter's birthday party yesterday. She wanted everything to have a FLOWER theme so we thought a fun game of pin the bee on the flower would be fun. It was a hit with the girls. This is also my entry for the Let's Face it Friday challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps. We were supposed to use material in our project.

Here is the whole flower...

I used a strip of green material for the stem but everything else is cut out of paper.

Here is a close up of the flower and the bees...

Anyway, I hope you like it! All the pieces were cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The flower was cut at about 11.5" and the bees were about 1.75" each. I used the darling Critter Faces in the Small size for all of the bees. And the flower center is a Basic Paper Doll Face.

I hope to be back on here before Christmas, but if not I would like to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Hugs- Glora

La bûche de Noël

For the current Let's Face it Friday Challenge over at the Peachy Keen Challenge blog we were asked to make a card or layout with you favorite holiday recipe. About 12 years ago I lived in France for 17 months. I spent two Christmases in France and my favorite Christmas treat was une buche de Noel. It is a yummy chocolate and cream filled creation rolled up and decorated to look like a log. It was often decorated with cute little decorations like holly and such. I am told that they are traditionally served with mushrooms made with meringue and that is why I have added cute little meringue colored mushrooms to my recipe layout.

Here is a little bit of a closeup:

The holly is actually a hidden recipe card. You just pull it up and the front has the ingredients on it and the back will have the directions on it. Here is a picture with the recipe card pulled out.

Have a terrific day! Hugs- Glora

Simply Crafts with Glora and Pam - Turkey Cut

Hello friend, it is the first Wednesday of the month again which means it is time for another Simply Crafts Challenge.

If you missed out on the big announcement last month, Pam (my crafting bestie) and I made our personal cut challenge into a challenge that you could join in too. Please come and join us at the Simply-Crafts Challenge Blog! We would love to have you play along!

This month I got to choose the cut and Pam sponsored the prize. The cut is the turkey from Create a Critter. I took a sneak peek at Pam's and it is TOTALLY cute and creative . I love what she did with it! You will have to hop on over to her blog HERE to get the details.

Here is mine:

I just LOVE this turkey cut and with that sentiment you have to know that she is sitting on an Action Wobble to make her wobble around! This is a shaped easel card, here is a little bit of a side view so you can see it better.

Hop on over to the challenge blog for more details and to see what a lucky random participant will win. Have a great one! Hugs- Glora

Here is a REALLY quick video of the turkey wobbling and my husband and daughter gobbling - LOL. Enjoy!

Whimsical Wednesday - Fall Cutie

Yay, it is time for another wonderful Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. Today we all made projects with a fall cutie (a little fall themed animal). This was Cathryn's idea and I love it.

I made a shaped card and my fall cutie is a little indian fox.

The fox and tee-pee are cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The little indian headpiece is cut from Paper Doll Dress Up. I just sized it up for the fox in my Gypsy. The yellow and green ribbon on the tee pee is some more beautiful crinkle ribbon by Patsy at the Prairie Bird Boutique. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Mixed Holiday Sentiments.

I had a little extra fun with the fox and used some more fun flock. I go in phases with that stuff, but I seriously love the way it looks when I take the time to use it. Here is a close up so you can see the texture a little better. A few of you had asked what fun flock is, or where to get it. Well I've seen it called fun flock and flocking and it is usually located right close to the embossing powders and such at your local scrapbooking store. Kimberly from My Craft Spot has some awesome tutorials on using fun flock so I'm going to link to one of those post HERE if you are interested.

Today, we are all doing a second project featuring stamps by Tanner, AKA: Mr. Cricut Crazy. I had the chance to work with Tanner on Emma's design team for a while and I'm just loving this Halloween stamp set I bought from him. These stamps are manufactured by Peachy Keen Stamps so they are awesome quality stamps!

For my card I used his Halloween Town set. I just love this 2 cute 2 spook sentiment.

This is another shaped card, the images come from the Simply Charmed cartridge. My only regret on this card is the stitching between the gray and the black parts of the headstone. I added the stitching before I had glued the gray piece down and then I truly realized how bad I am at drawing a straight line without a guide. Lesson learned on this one!!! Maybe you will humor me and just say that it looks like an old decrepit sort of headstone, so the pieces aren't straight anyway - LOL! The cute little face on the ghost is by Peachy Keen Stamps Monster Mash face assortment. The green bow is made with more of Patsy's ribbon and as mentioned before the darling sentiment is from Tanner's Halloween Town stamp set.

Another fun thing about this card is that the ghost is on an Action Wobble. She is so cute wobbling around on there. In fact, the very first project I EVER made with an Action Wobble over a year ago was on a ghost. It is a perfect motion for these kinds of things.

The prizes for this challenge are some ribbon from The Prairie Bird Boutique and one of Tanner's Stamp sets. I hope you will find some time to join in the fun. This is my last challenge being a part of the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge blog and I wanted to thank Stephanie and all the other sweet ladies on the team for their support and friendship! XOXO to all of you and I will still be stopping by to visit your blogs!!! You are all SO talented! Hugs- Glora

I just added a little hand cut flag pole to it. I also used Emma's Scallop & Stitched Circle set. This darling octopus is from the Sea Animals set by Market Street Stamps. His eye patch is just one of the scallop's from Emma's scallop circle die and that hat is from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge (it normally goes with the octopus on that cartridge). My Creative Time's Design Team Day - Teal, Red and Chocolate Chip!

***If you are looking for my Peachy Keen Stamps Guest Designer Day 3 post, scroll down or click HERE. If you are looking for my Day 4 post you can see it HERE***

Hello creative friends! Welcome to another My Creative Time Design Team Thursday! Today we are all making cards using the colors teal, red and chocolate chip!!! What a fun color combo. Make sure you drop by Emma's blog to see what she and my design team sisters have made. Here are my mini note cards (they are 3" x 3").

I had a lot of fun using Emma's darling 'Small Talk' set for these cards. They make the perfect little note cards! I stamped the borders in chocolate and the sentiments in red. I think these would be fun to tuck in my daughter's backpack or lunch on occasion. Great size for a little note!

The darling faces on the lady bugs and the eyes on the hedgehogs are from the new Peachy Keen Stamps face set called 'Winter Wonderland.' My Creative Time - August Release - Sneak Peek Day 2

Welcome to day two of sneak peeks at My Creative Time. Today we are using an adorable stamp set called 'Mixed Holiday Greetings.' We are also using a new die and stamp combo called the 'Fancy Frame Die and Stamp Set.' For my project I made a tri-fold card. Here is the front of the card:

When you untie the ribbon you can lift up the flaps to reveal the inside of the card:

I re-tied the bow from the outside on the inside just for the picture, but you can see where the holes where the ribbon is threaded through. 'Warm holiday wishes' is another sentiment from the Mixed Holiday Greetings stamp set and the darling shape it is stamped on is the darling new 'Fancy Frame Die and Stamp Set.'

I hope you will drop by Emma and my team member's blogs to see what incredible projects and inspiration they have for you. Once again, here are the rules for the sneak peek week.
