Gilby's Makeover Walk

Hello sweet friends. Welcome to Gilby's Makeover Walk. We are celebrating Wendy and Gilby's new blog look with a puppy walk and I'm so happy to have you here. If you came here from my sweet friend Emma's awesome blog than you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this puppy walk, make sure to start back at Wendy's blog to get the whole walk in.

We were each asked to do a 'makeover' project. I was excited because this was an idea my husband suggested to me a while ago but I just never got around to doing. Basically a before and after paperdoll makeover. What I mean by that, is I want to show you what my paperdolls looked like before discovering Peachy Keen Stamps and then what they look like now. Here is the before card:

I really loved this card when I made it 5 years ago and that is why I actually have a picture of it. I think she turned out pretty cute, but I always had the hardest time getting the eyes and mouth even. Plus it is a pretty simple card, nothing wrong with simple, I just like that I've learned to do more with my cards when I want to.

5 years later here is the 'makeover' card:

I hope you like it because I LOVE it!!! Isn't her sweet Peachy Keen Stamps face perfect?!!! This face comes from a set that I use a lot called Simple Sallies. I love Peachy Keen Stamps because I get perfect little faces for my projects!!!! In addition, when I discovered Peachy Keen Stamps I also discovered Emma and Nikki's blogs. Thanks to their inspiration over the past couple of years, I have started adding stitching and doodling to projects. It adds so much to a project. And about 10 months ago Emma at My Creative Time started making stamps!!! She has got an awesome variety of beautiful sentiment stamps that work perfectly for just about any occasion. The beautiful 'magical memories' sentiment is from her Fun in the Sun stamp set and the 'thank you' is from her Follow Your Dreams stamp set. I think they look just right on here. I can't wait to give this thank you card to my parents after our next trip to Disneyland. I know they are going to love it!

Well that's it for my makeover project. Make sure you leave a comment on every blog while you are walking along so that you will have the maximum chances to win an awesome puppy treat!!! Wendy and Gilby have some awesome sponsors for this walk including: VK Design Company, My Creative Time, Peachy Keen Stamps, Buggaboo Stamps, Jen's Digi Stamps, Cutting Cafe, Pink By Design, Our Craft Lounge, My Pink Stamper, and Gilbyscraftster. WOW, what a list of sponsors - good luck and THANKS so much to the sponsors!!!

Vacation Countdown Chain

This is just a super quick post to show you a fun idea. Have you ever made the little countdown to Christmas chains? Well this is the same idea, it is just a countdown to vacation chain. I made this super simple because the chains were just going to be torn off and thrown away.

All I did was cut 1 1/2 inch strips of paper, I punched out some Mickey icons with my EK Success punch and I stamped the numbers on the icons with the numbers from Emma's Follow Your Dreams (graduation) stamp set. I LOVE these number stamps. They are an awesome size too. My kids were thrilled with this simple project.

I hope you will drop by tomorrow for my My Creative Time Design Team post :).

***If you are looking for the My Creative Time April Release Blog Hop click HERE or scroll down to the next post***

Well I'm so excited to have you along for this super fun Disney themed Easter blog hop. If you came here via Nicole (Creations By Mommy) then you are in the right spot. If not make sure to start at Monica's blog so you don't miss a bit of Disney themed inspiration and fun!

I have a couple of projects for you. The first is a small Disney Easter egg banner that I made and hung up at my parent's house.

Here is the whole banner and then a few close ups too:

Now for my second project. This is the Easter card that I made for my parents. It is a egg shaped card with a little Disney fun added to it.

That darling sentiment is from Emma's (My Creative Time's) Color Me Happy stamp set. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?! It was the perfect touch for the card.

Well thanks for hopping by. For blog candy I'm offering a Cuttlebug Princess embossing folder set. All you need to do is leave a comment and have a US or Canada mailing address. I would love you to follow my blog if you like what you see, but it is not required to win. I will select a random winner on Monday, April 25th, 2011.
