PKS Challenge 22: Sketch Challenge

Yay, it is time for another Peachy Keen Challenge and this one is a sketch challenge. I totally LOVE this sketch and I'm certain I will be using it again. Sometimes a sketch is the perfect thing to strike up some creative inspiration and I think this sketch would look really cute flipped at a 90 degree angle too. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

This turned out to be a simple and fun masculine birthday card. I used PK-117 Picnic Tablecloth Background by Peachy Keen Stamps for the background. The hamburger came from PK-114 Hot Diggity Dog and the sentiment came from PKSC-04 the April 2012 SKOTM. I paper pieced the layers and inked them up to add some shading.

Make sure you stop by the PKS Challenge Blog to see what the assigned Design Team Members came up with for this awesome sketch. Hugs- Glora

MCT 3D Wednesday - REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

Hello My Creative Time friends. Today our 3D projects are all about being environmentally friendly. We are Reducing, Reusing and Recycling to make our projects. For my project I used a soup can that would have gone in the garbage and all of the paper was from scraps that could have been thrown away.

I decided to make a little 'Summer Can of Fun.' This can will have little pieces of paper inside with different activities that my girls and I can do this summer. Once homework and chores are done, they can pick a fun activity from the can. I think it will be a huge hit!

I used two My Creative Time stamp sets to make this. The first set is Have Fun in the Sun and the second was All Around Everything Accessories. I just randomly stamped sentiment on the red background paper and on the piece of white cardstock I did flip-flops in various colors. The end touch was some orange twill ribbon by Celebrate It.

Don't forget to stop by Emma's Blog to see a lot of awesome projects. Have a terrific day! Hugs- Glora

Core'dinations and Peachy Keen Stamps Blog Hop Day 2

Hello and welcome to the Core'dinations and Peachy Keen Stamps Blog Hop. If you came here from Lydia's blog you are in the right spot, if not make sure to start back at the Peachy Keen Stamps blog so you can get the full hop in.

I was excited to participate in this hop because I love both Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock and Peachy Keen Stamps. In fact so much so that I got a little carried away and made a gift box filled with 6 birthday cards. Every piece of paper on this post is by Core'dinations and there are lots of Peachy Keen Stamps and sentiments all over on here too.

This is the gift box:

Aren't those cupcakes sweet? I paper pieced them and they are from the April 2012 SKOTM. The sentiment is from the With a Cherry on Top stamp set and the faces are the 1 1/8" Cherub Faces by Peachy Keen Stamps. I added some Stickles and some hemp from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique and all of the paper is by Core'dinations (some of the paper is pre-embossed polka dot paper in a small and large polka dot, it is SO pretty).

Here is a different angle on the box:

When you open up the box there are 6 A2 (4.25"x 5.5") sized birthday cards and envelopes.

I'm not going to go into detail on each of these cards except to tell you which Peachy Keen stamp sets I used. I don't want to keep you too long. However, over the next few weeks I will be occasionally showing one of these cards and giving you the full details as to cartridges, embossing folders, stamps and other supplies used.

For the bee I used Snow Cuties for the face and Bee Happy for the sentiment.
I used the June 2012 SKOTM for the sentiment on the bird card and the bird's eye is from the Baby Animal Faces.

For the bear card I used the Here Kitty Kitty faces and the sentiment is from the Fairy Miny Set stamp set.
For the alligator I used a sentiment from the June 2012 SKOTM and the face is from the Funshine Faces Side Views.

The sentiments on both of these comes from the June 2012 SKOTM. The frog face is from the Baby Animal Faces stamp set and the turtle face is from the Snow Cuties stamp set.

I am the last stop on the hop and I hope you have had fun. Make sure to enter the Rafflecopter drawing at Peachy Keen Stamps and the Core'dinations blog for a chance to win one of these awesome prizes, you have until Sunday, June 10th at 11:59 pm (EST) to enter for these prizes:

Have a terrific day! Hugs- Glora

My Creative Time 3D Wednesdays

This is my 2nd post for today. If you would like to see details about the current Simply Crafts Challenge scroll down to the next post or click HERE.

Today at My Creative Time we are all making projects with a "Father's Day" or "masculine" theme.

Well I was glancing through some SVG's and saw this really cute soda pop and tie idea and thought I would like to make something like that so I borrowed that idea (I think it was from Lettering Delights but I don't remember for sure). Then my mind went to work and came up with an original idea too (at least as far as I know it is an original idea)! I thought about how cute a bag of microwave popcorn would look dressed up like a man's dress shirt. I love how these came out and I hope you like them too.

I thought they both were kind of a fun twist on the word POPS since I used 'POP'corn and soda 'POP' and sometimes we call our dad 'POP' or 'POPS.' Plus it was super convenient that Emma just came out with this PERFECT stamp set called Here's Lookin' At You. POPS is one of the sentiments and you can mix and match it with a bunch of other AWESOME sentiments. I LOVE how these turned out and I hope you do too!

If you are interested in details on how to make these, here you go...

For the soda pop I used a 2 liter of soda and then I cut the collar and tie image from the Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge at 11". This image does not have a layer feature, however, you can just cut it out twice once in white and once with a patterned paper. Then you can cut the tie part out of the patterned paper with a couple of quick snips of the scissors and adhere it to the white piece. Super duper easy. Then I just stamped the sentiment 'POPS' from Here's Lookin' At You and I stamped 'you are simply the BEST!' from the same set. I inked the edges and wrapped the collar around the soda and stuck it together. Then I added a button to the top of the collar and I was done. This took hardly any time at all.

For the popcorn. I cut a white piece of paper 7" x 11" (this is the piece to wrap around the popcorn). I cut a thin strip 1/2" x 7" for the middle of the shirt. I cut the same collar and tie image from the Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge at 7" this time. I cut it out in white and patterned paper so I could get the tie layer. I inked around all of the pieces and then adhered them to the middle of the 7" x 11" piece of paper. Then I trimmed the top of the collar off and curved around the neck part as well. I added two buttons one at the collar and one at the bottom and then I added the 'POPS' sentiment to the 'It's your Day!' sentiment from the Here's Lookin' At You stamp set by Emma at My Creative Time. Then I centered it and wrapped it around the popcorn and glued it down. The patterned paper on both of these is from the All About Boys paper pad by DCWV.

Make sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what AWESOME projects she and the rest of the team have in store for you! Have a terrific day! Hugs- Glora

Simply Crafts Challenge for June

Hi and welcome to another Simply Crafts Challenge. Today Pam picked the cut and she chose the rounded star cut from off of the Baby Steps Cricut cartridge. I love this cartridge and I also have a new nephew that could be born any day so I figured I would use this cut and make a baby card for him. If you are interested in joining this challenge go to the Simply Crafts Challenge Blog, HERE, for more details.

Isn't that little bear hugging the star so cute? I seriously can not get enough of this darling baby cartridge. My card is 5.5" x 5.5" with the blue layer cut at 5.25"x 5.25". I cut out the star and bear cut from the Baby Steps cartridge at 5". I stamped his darling face with the Critter Faces (Large) stamps by Peachy Keen Stamps. And that perfect sentiment comes from My Creative Time's All Star Baby stamp set. I inked all the edges and added some faux stitching as well. The pretty blue hemp in the background is from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

Make sure to stop by Pam's blog and see more details on her card HERE, and if you would like to join in on the challenge go to the Simply Crafts Challenge Blog, HERE.

The prize that will be randomly given for participating in the challenge is this awesome background stamp pictured below. It is called Cloudy Day and is a full A2 sized background stamp by Peachy Keen Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs- Glora

Peachy Keen Stamps June 2012 SKOTM Sneaks

Hello Peachy Keen fans. Have you been LOVING all the June 2012 Stamp Kit of the Month sneaks you have been seeing? I know I have. This set is AWESOME and all of the design team members have come up with so many wonderful ways to use these stamps.

I have two cards to share with you today EXCLUSIVELY using the June 2012 Stamp Kit of Month. I didn't use any of the add on sets for either of these.

Isn't that just the cutest frog? There are two faces for it so you can make some darling little girl or boy frogs. I paper pieced these frogs using paper by DCWV - Nana's Nursery. The bellies were colored with Copics and I put chalk on the cheeks and glossy accents on the eyes. Pretty simple. All of the paper on this card is from the DCWV - Nana's Nursery mat stack.

And here is my second card...

I cannot tell you how in LOVE I am with these cute turtles and their ADORABLE little faces. I'm certain I will be using these faces for a lot more critters to come. For my top sentiment I did a little masking to get this sentiment and the Thank You is on this set as well. I colored my turtles with Copics and used X-Press It Blending Cardstock. All of the patterned paper is from the DCWV - Lemon Flower mat stack.

Make sure to stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps blog to see the rest of the sneak peeks for today. I know you will LOVE what these AMAZING ladies came up with. Have a PEACHY day! Hugs- Glora

Mother's Day Card

I noticed that I forgot to post the simple card that I made for my Mom for Mother's Day.

This was a larger card sized 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock folded in half for the base). The flower cut is from the Smiley Cards Cricut cartridge. The beautiful sentiment is from Emma's More Gift Card Sentiments and the sweet face is one of the 4" faces by Peachy Keen Stamps called 4" Happy Lash Simple Smile. I inked and faux stitched all the edges and added chalk cheeks and glossy accents.
