Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Guest Designer

Hello! Today I am guest designing at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I love Lisa's cut files and I was so excited when they said I could guest design. I made a few projects to share with you today.

A special little boy just turned 2 so I thought this fun shape card would be cute for him:

This cute little boy and cake come from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons file called Make a Wish Cutting File. Isn't he darling? I stamped his face with a Peachy Keen Face stamp called PK-1320 In the Garden Face Assortment. I also used a couple of My Creative Time stamp sets. The #2 is from Follow Your Dreams and the Birthday Boy sentiment is from Celebrate Good Times. I did some faux stitching with my Sakura Gelly Roll pen and added some Glossy Accents to the eyes.

Next up is a fun beach ball shape card for my niece's birthday next month. She loves swimming so I thought this would be the perfect summer birthday card.

The beach ball shape card and girl both come from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons file called Little Swimmers. I stamped her face with another Peachy Keen Face stamp called PK-1200 The Moodies. I also added a sentiment from Craftin' Desert Divas. It is from the Simply Said stamp set. I did more faux stitching and added Glossy Accents to the eyes.

And my last project is a stick puppet for my girls. They LOVE it and I'm really hoping that Lisa comes out with some more princess costumes for these cute girl cuts.

I made a front side and a back side for her so she would be cute as they played with her coming or going. It was really pretty simple to do. All I had to do was rearrange the layers and voila. 

The cute little girl is from the PPPR Dress Up Girls 1 Cutting File and her cute princess dress is from the Dress Up Girl Princess Dress 1 Cutting File. I stamped her face with another PKS face stamp from the PK-1320 In the Garden Face Assortment. I also did a little bit of accenting with my Sakura Gelly Roll.

Happy Birthday Sweetie! - Card

One of my nieces is having a birthday soon. She is in the Mandarin Chinese immersion program at her school and loves Mulan. I thought it would be fun to do a Mulan inspired birthday card for her. I was just trying to figure out the design of my card when the new Peachy Keen Stamps sketch challenge came up. It made it a breeze to put together with the sketch as inspiration.

And here is the card that I made. I changed things a tiny bit but stuck pretty close to the sketch.

I got the Mulan inspired cut file from Too Cute By Jessica's Pretty Little Princesses 2. The perfect little face I stamped on is from Peachy Keen Stamps Princess Face Assortment. The oval die and sentiment are both from My Creative Time. The oval comes from the Surprise Pop-Out Card die and the sentiment is from Celebrate Good Times.

MCT 26th Release Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of My Creative Time's 26th stamp and die release. We have some fun stamps and dies to share today and it is also Mommy Emma's birthday! Happy Birthday Emma! My Dad just had his 74th birthday this week too and I had to use these new stamps and dies to make him a birthday card.

I used the Let's Celebrate stamp set and the Stitched Party Dies that are both from the new release. I doodled part of the confetti in the background and stamped part of it using the sprinkle stamp from Celebrate Good Times.

Ice Cream = Happiness

I made this tag with a very special ice cream loving person in mind. I think she will enjoy it, especially if it accompanies a little bit of ice cream.

I love how easy My Creative Times dies can make a project. It took just a few runs through the die cutting machine, a little inking, stamping and ribbon and voila, a cute little project.

The ice cream dies and the sentiment all come from Emma's Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set. The tag is from her Tag Dies set. I used some pretty chevron ribbon by May Arts and tied it off with some hemp twine from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique. The adorable faces on the ice cream cones are from the brand new The Moodies Face Assortment by Peachy Keen Stamps.

Simply Crafts Challenge September 2012

Well believe it or not it is the first Wednesday of September which means it is time for another Simply Crafts Challenge. This month I chose the cut and it is the birthday sundae on the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge. This is the second day in a row that I've posted an ice cream card. Well I guess I have just been in the ice cream mood and let's face it ice cream makes me happy so the sentiment ICE CREAM = HAPPINESS! rings true for me. My card base comes from the Birthday Bash cartridge as well. I hadn't cut any of their pre-designed card shapes before and really thought I should give one a try. I love how this one turned out, in  fact so much so that I am planning on trying another one very soon. I didn't want to cut out and glue tiny sprinkles so I used some sprinkle paper from a 6x6 Imaginisce Hello Cupcake paper pad. I added some VersaMarker and some doodling to most of the pieces. I did some faux stitching along the edges of the card as well. And that oh SO perfect sentiment comes from My Creative Time's Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set.

Show Me Your Technique with My Creative Time

Hello crafting friends. Today we are doing another technique mini blog hop at My Creative Time. You should have visited:

I wanted to share with you one of my favorite tools and techniques for my paper cut images. I especially tend to use this little weapon when I'm in a hurry but want to add just a little more depth and definition to my cuts.

The VersaMarker by Tsukineko. 

I'm sure most of you have heard of this but if you haven't it is essentially a watermark pen that will color the cardstock a darker shade of the same color you are writing on. This marker works best on regular colored cardstock. If you are using patterned paper it doesn't always work for accenting. If you are wanting to use it on some patterned paper I would test it out on a little corner of it first to see if it will give you the look you are wanting.

When I want to add a little definition but don't have time to faux stitch or ink everything I just draw around the edges of the cut with my VersaMarker. Here is a picture of the same exact Cricut cut. The one on the left with VersaMarker and the one on the right without.

I tried to make them EXACTLY the same except for the VersaMarker. The extra highlights in her hair and the lines on her dress were also done with the VersaMarker. There was no switching of colors, no sponges, no mess, just quick and easy accenting. If you can draw a line you can use this marker.

Here is the card that I made with this little girl:

The girl was cut from the Fast Food Cricut Lite cartridge. Her face is one of the stamps from the new September 2012 Stamp Kit of the Month by Peachy Keen Stamps. For the perfect sentiments I used My Creative Time's Celebrate Good Times stamp set.

MCT May Release Day #4

Hi and welcome to day four of projects from Emma's newest stamp and die release over at My Creative Time. ALL of these stamps and dies are already available for order.

Today we are all using Celebrate Good Times. This is the ultimate adorable birthday stamp and die set. I LOVE it SO much. I know I will be using it over and over again!

I thought this set worked perfectly for my nephew's birthday card. I stamped each word of Make a Wish separately to make little sentiment banners down the side. I love how it turned out and will probably be trying that again. I cut out one of the awesome Tag Dies from this release and then embossed the tag with the Mickey Celebrates Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used to white chalk ink to make the embossing pop. I added a Mickey Icon eyelet that I got from Disneyland to the top of the tag and some faux stitching around the edges and I was done. This actually turned out to be a super quick and simple card, but my "masculine/boy" cards tend to be a little more simple.
