You're Spoketacular!

Here I am with a super quick and simple card today. My nephew recently had a birthday and he works in a bike shop. I thought this image and these sentiments would be perfect for him.

I used a retired stamp set by Market Street Stamps called Riding By. They were designed by one of my very favorite crafter's, Samantha Casey. If you don't know who she is you should definitely check her blog out HERE. The chevrons on the card are the only thing not from this stamp set (the Riding By set does have some chevrons with it I just happened to use a different set for mine). I used the Build a Chevy Background by My Creative Time. Well that's it for this card, simple, easy and fun. Hugs- Glora

Bridal Shower Invitations

I thought I would share some Bridal Shower invites I needed to make for my niece a couple of weeks ago. I needed to make quite a few so I kept them VERY simple and clean.

I used a paper pad that had the basic colors of her wedding and combined two different prints for each card.

I think the one above turned out to be my favorite.

I also added the perfect little sentiment to each card.

The sentiment is from My Creative Time's I'm Here for You Rain or Shine

I hope you enjoyed these and that you have a TERRIFIC day!

San Antonio Texas Layout

I wanted to join in the current challenge at My Creative Time which was to use pockets and envelopes on a layout. I went through some of my college choir tour pictures and found something fun to add a pocket and envelope to.

When we went to the Hard Rock Cafe in San Antonio Texas (just along the Riverwalk), I kept a few mementos. The little flag out of my hamburger and a little two sided advertisement. I didn't want to adhere the advertisement down because I want to be able to take it out and look at the map on details on the back too, so a pocket was the perfect solution. My friend Kim used the Stitched Bracket Dies as pockets on her layout and I LOVED how it looked so I totally took the idea from her (you can see her layout HERE).

I also used the following My Creative Time items: Just Simply Live for my 'SAN ANTONIO' and my other two stamped sentiment, the Vintage Stitched Label Dies,  Lowercase Fun Dies for TEXAS, the Mini Stitched Envelope Die along with the smallest heart from the Stitched Sweethearts and XOXO Dies.

Have a wonderful day! Hugs- Glora

Bird Wedding Card

I'm cutting this kind of at the deadline but wanted to share the card that I have kind of envisioned since I saw the image for the photo/color inspiration challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps.

Here is the inspiration picture:

And here is my card:

These cute little birdies and the wedding sentiment are from PK-198 Love Birds and Sentiments by Peachy Keen Stamps. The branch, hearts, leaves and heart sentiment are all from a retired set by Market Street Stamps called Follow Your Heart. I thought they combined together beautifully. I colored the birds and hearts with Spectrum Noir markers that I just got for my birthday. I'm such a novice at coloring in stamps but I figure I'm just going to experiment and have fun with it. And fun, it definitely was. Have a great day! Hugs- Glora

MCT April Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the final stop on the My Creative Time April Release Blog Hop. I have had SO much fun this week as the guest designer and I hope you have enjoyed some of the projects I've had to share with you as well. Thanks SO much to Emma for letting me join in. You should have arrived at my blog from Veronica's blog but if not make sure to head back to Emma's blog and get the full hop in. I know there are fabulous projects at every stop, you won't want to miss a thing.

I have two projects for you today! Like I mentioned yesterday I'm totally thrilled and excited about the Springtime in Paris set and couldn't wait to scrap my first day in PARIS now that I have the perfect set. There I am as fresh as a daisy, LOL, after a 3 layover flight to Paris, France. The president (adult leader) of my mission came and picked us up from the Charles de Gaulle airport and we stopped and saw a few sights. We went to Trocadero, the perfect spot to get a full shot of le tour eiffel (the Eiffel Tower). We also got pictures with the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and the Seine river in the background. And although I don't have a picture of it, I don't know if I've ever been quite as scared for my life as I was when we drove down the Champs-Ellysees and onto the round-about that circles the Arc de Triomphe. There are 10 or more streets that empty into/off of that round-about and cars were going in, out and around it at least 6 cars deep. It was SCARY. That is one experience I will pass on next time I go to France :). Anyway, sorry to keep you, I couldn't help but reminisce a tiny bit.

Here is my layout:

The vines, designs (french damask), French sentiments, Eiffel Tower and coordinating die all come in the Springtime in Paris set. For my date at the bottom I used the die and alphabet stamps from Just Simply Live. My Bienvenue a Paris (Welcome to Paris) sign is stamped on the Vintage Stitched Label Dies and each of my pictures was cut out using the Stitched 3x4 Journal Die.

My last quick project is a gift tag. I got this awesome bottle of  Sweet on Paris body-wash from Bath and Body Works and I wanted to make up a little thank you gift tag for it.

I cut out the Eiffel Tower die, from Springtime in Paris, on sturdy white cardstock and then I stamped it with the coordinating Eiffel Tower stamp and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I inked it up with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I added an eyelet at the top and stamped the Merci (thank you) sentiment to one of the Chunky Jar Accessories die cuts and attached it to the side of the Eiffel Tower. I think it turned out pretty cute and it took very little time at all.

MCT April Sneak Peeks Day 4

Well we are on the final day of sneak peeks, can you believe it? Tomorrow you can buy these awesome stamps and dies for yourself! Yahoo! My Creative Time's releases are always amazing!

I have one simple project that uses both sets we are showcasing today. I must say I was THRILLED and a little bit giddy when I opened my package from Emma and saw the Springtime in Paris stamp and die set. I lived in France for a year and a half as a missionary for my church. I lived in the suburbs of Paris for about 7 months and visited Paris itself quite often. I have been looking for some stamps and dies to scrap some of my time there and also for sending cards to friends that live there. What Emma came up with is even better than what I had hoped to find. Anyway, I thought the two sets today would combine into the perfect Christmas gift tag for one of my French friends.

Joyeux Noel means Merry Christmas and Bonne Annee means Happy New Year. I love the font on these awesome French sentiments and that awesome, big '&' die is so much fun! It comes in the And Then Some stamp and die set. I used a tag from the Tag Dies, the kraft die cuts are from a die in the Just Simply Live set and that cute heart accent is from the Fun Variety on the Inside and Out stamp set.

MCT April Sneak Peeks Day 3

Wow, here we are already at the 3rd day of sneak peeks for My Creative Time's new release. I'm so thankful to be guest designing for Emma for this months release!

I have a couple of cards for you today. The first is a fun little scene created by using stamps and dies from the new Wishing You Were Here set.

Aren't those dies with coordinating stamps sweet? I LOVE them! The only other thing I used for this card beyond this new stamp and die set is the Stitched 3x4 Journal Die.

I had intended on using these beautiful Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Dies as they were designed to be used but took them out of the bag with the tulips being upside down. They looked just like little Pac-Man ghosts to me so I just HAD to go with the idea. I grew up playing a fair amount of Pac-Man and so did my husband so we both got a kick out of this card.

I used several things for this card. First off the ghosts, the power pellets (circles), and the ghosts eyes were all cut using the new Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Dies. Pac-Man was cut with the Scallop and Stitched Circle Die (I was able to cut the perfect little wedge out from his mouth by using one of the points from the 3 Star Stitched Dies). I used the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die to get the lines of stitching on the black and yellow pieces. The HAPPY and BIRTHDAY across the top and bottom come from Chocolate Greetings and the HB2U comes from the Fun Gift Pocket Sentiments.
