One Little Monkey Hanging From a Vine

This project came about as a request from my sweet sister-in-law. She sent me a picture of a monkey wind  twister and wanted to know if I could make something similar to it with my Gypsy. Here is what I came up with:

This thing is really LONG, it is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long (maybe longer, I still need to measure it). It has two intersecting tree limbs, a long swirly vine and a double sided monkey stamped with darling Peachy Keen Stamps all interconnected with baker's twine.

This was A LOT of fun to make. I will definitely be making more in the future.

Here is a picture of the original inspiration. I changed some things up just by personal preference.

And here is the cute little double sided monkey again! I wanted to submit this for the Scrappy Mom's Create a Critter challenge.

Don Juan Cricut cartridge

Turn That Frown Upside Down

Have you ever seen something someone has made and been so in awe of it, that you just had to try something like it? Well this is what happened to me last night. My fellow Creative Time design team member Miss Nikki AKA: Scrappin' Navy Wife made the cutest astronaut spinner card. If you haven't seen it, you have got to check it out! It is OUT of this WORLD ADORABLE! Click HERE to link to Nikki's awesome card and blog.

So like I said I couldn't get the idea out of my head. My daughter saw it too and wanted a girly version made for her. I put on my thinking cap and pulled out my Gypsy and this is what I came up with. I only put two different faces on mine, but it is still super fun to play with. Part of the inspiration came from Emma's (My Creative Time's) adorable stamp set 'Turn That Frown Upside Down'. I knew that sentiment would be perfect because I would litterally be turning the frowny face into a smiley face- LOL. So here is the frown:

And here is the SMILE - aren't those Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kid face stamps THE CUTEST?!!!

Here is a super short video showing how the card works. Thanks for looking.

Once again - total props to awesome Nikki - Scrappin' Navy Wife!!! And thanks for dropping by!

This week for Emma's Throwback Thursday we are going with a FLOWER theme. The cartridge we were asked to use is Walk in My Garden. And make sure to head on over and see all the other beautiful projects by Emma and her Design Team.

*My Creative Time stamps - Polka Dot SURPRISE
*Peachy Keen Stamps - Wide Eyed Kids
*Polka Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder
*Lilac twine from The Twinery
*Lilac ink

Just a Note

I finally got my Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge completed. I wanted to use one of the little mail boxes like the design team had used, but I wanted to make it a year round mail box. We already have Valentine's Day ones that we decorated last year. I think we will have fun leaving each other little 'love' notes in the mail box all year. It is very simple but I like it.

So that is a side view and here is a front view:

Items Used:

*Mailbox from Target's Dollar Spot
*Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge for the sentiment
*Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge for the music notes and for the hearts. I welded the hearts to the music notes in my Gypsy to make them 'love' notes.
*Peachy Keen Stamps - Simple Sallies & Simple Simons
*Ribbon from Pebbles Inc.
*Sakura White Gellyroll pen
*Black Bic Ultrathin Marker
