Magical Memories with Mickey

I just wanted to post a quick scrapbook page that I made with Emma's (My Creative Time's) new summer stamp set Have Fun in the Sun. I really LOVE this set!!! (If you would like to see the LO a little better just click on the picture below and it will zoom in).

Anyway, super simple like I said, but I love how it will look with pictures at Disneyland on it. Here is a close-up of Emma's super cute sentiment on my ticket. I just added a little bit of a Mickey icon to the dots and voila a super cute Disney ticket.

This is a picture of the full set of Emma's Have Fun in the Sun set.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you real soon! Hugs- Glora

Bring My Teacher an Apple!

Here is a fun little bag that we decorated for my daughter's teacher during Teacher Appreciation week. We were supposed to bring the teacher a munchy and my daughter insisted that her teacher loves apples. So we bought her apples and went with an apple theme.

These oh SO perfect sentiment stamps are from Emma's My Teacher Rocks stamp set. I absolutely LOVE these! They were perfect for Teacher Appreciation week and they will also get A LOT of use for any other teacher related projects. The cute polka dot background stamp is by Peachy Keen Stamps along with the darling little Critter face stamps.

And this little thingy was an absolute must. My daughter fell in love with it at first sight. It worked perfect for a little tag holder, but now it can be used as her teacher's work badge holder. I have no idea what they are really called but they pull in and out so you can scan your work badge. Anyway, whatever it is, here is a picture of it.

Thanks for dropping by again today! And many prayers are going out to so many people in harms way of the tornadoes!!!!!

Craftiest Mom Contest

Alright, so I hate to even ask, because I don't want to pressure anyone into anything! I had entered the Craftiest Mom Contest at Cricut on FaceBook (along with about a zillion other super talented ladies). If you feel so inclinded and liked my Christmas wall hanging with the (rocking) rocking horse please vote HERE. Otherwise you can completed ignore this post and pretend like it never happened and I won't know the difference - LOL. You can vote once a day until the contest is over.

Here is a picture of my project...

and HERE is a link to the original post for this project.

There are several other ladies that I know that have entered amazing projects too. So go and check them out. You can vote for as many as you want and once every day. Good luck EVERYONE!

Let's Face It Friday - Organize It

I absolutely LOVE to see organizational ideas and if you are like me and want to see some AMAZING and super cute ideas go and check out the design team projects and submissions for the Let's Face It Friday challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.

For my project I wanted to make something fun and interactive for my daughter to keep up on her 'school' skills in the summer. She LOVES this so I think it will help out a lot. Last year we didn't use any charts but we did find out that if we did her reading and stuff first thing in the morning then we would remember to get it done. Otherwise the day would get busy with fun summer activities and this summer learning would get pushed aside. This chart should help too since each day each item will start up in the 'TO DO' box and then she can move them down to the 'COMPLETED' box as she finishes up each item. This chart is approximately 6" x 11"

(If you would like to see the details closer you can always click on the photo).

I made the background using Microsoft Excel. I'm an accountant so I am a bit of a spreadsheet nerd. Then I printed my spreadsheet on some super cute paper from DCWV's Mod-Retro Stack. I stamped a darling little heart from Emma's stamp set My One and Only in the corner. I cut the pieces for my project from various cartridges at about 2" each.

This cute little book is from the Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite cartridge. I stamped it with a My Creative Time stamp from the set called 'My Teacher Rocks,' and I also used the adorable Peachy Keen stamp set called 'Happy Lashes'.

This cute little pencil came from the Locker Talk Cricut cartridge. I stamped his cute face with a Simple Simon face stamp by PKS.

I made the little chalkboard myself. I used the super cute Woodgrain background stamp by Market Street Stamps. For the cute face I white embossed a darling Simple Sally face and for the numbers I welded them together using my Gypsy and the Pooh Font cartridge.

And for this cute little kitty, I used Create-a-Critter for the cat and Pooh Font for the letters. The adorable face is a Critter face stamp from Peachy Keen stamps.

I laminated everything so they will SURVIVE the summer. I have my own personal laminator that I use for lots of little things for my children. I seriously LOVE it. Then I attached everything with Velcro.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my project today. Hugs- Glora

My Creative Time's May Stamp Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another awesome stamp release blog hop. Emma has done it once again. These new stamps are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! If you have come here from Katie's blog than you are in the right place, if not the beginning of the hop starts at Emma's blog.

Emma asked me to use here beautiful new set called "Happy Homecoming." These stamps are an absolute neccessity for anyone with friends of family that serve or have served in the army, navy, or air force. Emma has designed these stamps so that you can customize your saying in SO many ways. I absolutely LOVE them. She also designed a super adorable frame that all of the sentiments can fit into. Now, if you don't have anyone near and dear serving in the armed forces, these stamps can be used for so many other occasions too. I decided to make a non-military card just so you can see how perfect they can be for other projects as well.

I made this card with my niece in mind. She is more of a blue and purple loving girl so I went with a blue theme. She just returned home after being away for 18 months serving a mission for my church. I thought this would be a perfect way to tell her welcome home.

Don't you just LOVE that adorable frame that fits the sentiment oh so perfectly? And those fonts they are just so beautiful. The beautiful dot background is one of my favorite background stamps from Market Street Stamps. It is called Loopy Loo Polkas.

Emma is so sweet and generous and she is going to give 4 lucky people a stamp set of their choice. All you need to do is hop to every stop on the hop and leave each person a comment for a chance to win. Pretty easy right? You have until Saturday night, May 21st to get your comments in.

Your next stop is Miss Leanne. I know she will have yet another BEAUTIFUL project for you. Click HERE to go to her blog.

If you get lost along the way here is the line-up for the hop:

Katie ~ http://www.craftingwithkatie.com/

Jen ~ http://jennyscards.blogspot.com/
Kate ~ http://www.scrapperscreativecorner.blogspot.com/
Ruthie ~ http://septemberninth.blogspot.com/
Shar ~ http://scrapendipity.blogspot.com/

I also made this card to enter into the sketch (with a twist) challenge over at Market Street Stamps. I fell in love with the sketch and just had to use it for my card. The twist was to use a background stamp to make an embellishment.

Navy ink for inking

My Creative Time's Design Team Day

Today Emma has asked us to make a tag and to use one of her stamp sets. She asked me to use 'My Favorite Sayings'. I really LOVE this set. It has some sentiments that are some of my favorite saying too! Please make sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what fun inspiration Emma and the rest of the Design Team have in store for you. Also make sure to check out Emma's beautiful projects on Everyday Cricut. She has been Guest Designing over there all week and her projects have been AMAZING!

I think Emma's stamps look so cute on these! They are the perfect touch and just what I would want to say too. I also used the Mom You Rock stamp set for the word 'daughter' on the banners at the bottom of the tags. I didn't use my Cricut on these. I used an old Sizzix Die Cut that I had. That way I could line up the patterned paper perfectly with the tag cut. I also added a large eyelet to each tag. Does anyone use these anymore? I really do like them, but I don't use them as often as I could/should. I finished them off with some doodling and some ribbon or baker's twine. My daughter is going to love these. It will be fun to drop a little note on the back and give to her. I hope you like them too.

I wanted to submit this for the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. The challenge was to make something without your Cricut and to add some sort of old school embellishment - for me that was my eyelets.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Items Used:

*My Creative Time stamps - My Favorite Sayings
*My Creative Time stamps - Mom You Rock
*Sizzix Tag die cut (old thick red one)
*Provo Craft Large Eyelets

You Make Me Smile

I have combined a couple of my favorite challenges into one card today. I used the sketch with a twist from the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #51 and the colors from the Market Street Stamps Color Cue Challenge #2

I thought this would make a great any day type of card so I used this perfect sentiment from Emma's Turn That Frown Upside Down set. I also stamped these adorable little Market Street Stamps starfish onto some textured cardstock. Then I inked them, colored in the little stitching and the eye whites and then added a little chalk for their cheeks. I also pop-dotted them up which was the twist to the sketch challenge.

I also decided to add this new creation to Alex's (You Had Me at Craft) new weekly link-up party. There are some pretty cute creations over there. If you get some time you might want to head over and take a look.

Items Used:

*My Creative Time stamps- Turn That Frown Upside Down
*Market Street Stamps - Sea Animals
*Fiscars Border Punch - Effervescence
*Lemondrop twine from The Twinery
*Ink in various colors for LOTS of inking
*Sakura White Gellyroll Pen
*Chalk
*Zig Markers
*Skittles
*Pop-dots

Thanks to my friend Pam for the skittles and the border punch :). It is always fun to have some new stuff to play with.

We are So Proud of You

*** This post disappeared during the BLOGGER problem. I though it might show back up but it hasn't so I've re-added it back **

Well I guess there is nothing like a last minute challenge entry. This challenge seriously closes in about one hour. Anyway, this card is for the Peachy Keen Let's Face It Friday Challenge. The challenge was to use a banner somewhere on your project and a Peachy Keen face stamp. Well I just went to the cutest spring dance recital and wanted to give some of the participants a little card telling them how proud we were of them. The youngest was only 3 years old and they were so brave to stay on the stage and perform their little numbers.

I think they will love their little cards. The sentiment is from Emma's graduation set called "Follow Your Dreams" This set has some awesome sentiments of congratulations that can be used for many cards beyond graduation. The cute pink patterned paper is actually a Market Street background stamp stamped with watermark ink. It is called 'Punched Tin'. Isn't it beautiful? And of course that cute face is from a darling Peachy Keen Stamp set called Wide Eyed Kids.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Sad Story about my Gypsy

My Gypsy died! After a year-and-a-half of working it hard, today I turned it on, and the blue light lit up but the screen didn't. I tried the hard reset button in the back, but still couldn't get it to turn on.
I had Mother's Day projects to do, so I had to go on without it. It felt so foreign to handle the actual cartridges and plug them into the Expression machine! I remembered that somehow, a long time ago, this is how I did things!

I tried several times over the next few hours, turning it on, reseting it, and then letting it sit and rest for a time - hoping it would come back. But it never did.

A few hours later, when my husband returned home from my Saturday honey-do list, I handed him my machine and cried about the sad problem. He pressed the button and it turned right on (I shouldn't be surprised - he's really good about knowing how to press the right buttons, but that's another story). I quickly plugged it in and did a backup of my designs from the last few weeks that I had thought were lost forever.

Now, we will see if it continues to work.

Update: After the update, I turned it off and it wouldn't work again. I let it rest, and it worked again about 4 hours later. Now I'll go madly cutting until it dies.
