Welcome to the My Creative Time 26th Release Blog Hop. I have had WAY too much fun with this new release and I hope you have enjoyed all of the fun inspiration as well. You should have come here from the talented Courtney's blog. If not you will want to make sure you start at the My Creative Time Blog so that you get the full hop in.
I have a couple of cards for you today. I will apologize in advance this is a little bit of a longer post that I usually do for a blog hop. Sorry.
On both of these projects I used the new Cocktail Party Stitched Dies. I don't drink alcohol so you would think that I would have no use for these dies but there are actually some awesome shapes in this die set and I had some fun ideas pop into my head when I first saw them. Here are a couple of these ideas.
First up is my flower birthday card. I made the flower using 3 different dies sets. For the center piece I used the Scallop and Stitched Circle Die, the petals were made by cutting out the Cocktail Party Stitched Die 5 times (the piece that I used is the part that would usually go in the wine glass as the beverage), and then for the leaves I used the Stitched Leaves Dies. The sentiment for my card is from the new Some Days Simply Require stamp set. My card base was made using the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die and the polka dot piece in the middle was also made using the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die. All I did was just run it through my die cutter twice to crop it the size that I wanted. Last of all I tied some seam binding ribbon, from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique, into a bow at the top.
For my second card I used the little olive pick piece as a cupcake topper and the little heart sprinkles are the inner piece from the heart pick which is also part of the Cocktail Party Stitched Die. The cute cupcake is from the Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set. The sentiment is the same one I used in the flower card I just masked off the 'to you' part. The gingham piece was cut with the Stitched 3x4 Journal Die (I ran this through my Cuttlebug Machine twice so I could make it 3x3.5). I used the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die for two of my pieces, first was the kraft background piece, I ran it through my die cutter twice to make it 4x5.25". I also ran the pink strip through twice so I could get the stitching going down the sides. Then for my scallops I used the scalloped edges from the Treat Slider Box Die. And I finished it off with some Trendy Twine.
