One Little Monkey Hanging From a Vine

This project came about as a request from my sweet sister-in-law. She sent me a picture of a monkey wind  twister and wanted to know if I could make something similar to it with my Gypsy. Here is what I came up with:

This thing is really LONG, it is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long (maybe longer, I still need to measure it). It has two intersecting tree limbs, a long swirly vine and a double sided monkey stamped with darling Peachy Keen Stamps all interconnected with baker's twine.

This was A LOT of fun to make. I will definitely be making more in the future.

Here is a picture of the original inspiration. I changed some things up just by personal preference.

And here is the cute little double sided monkey again! I wanted to submit this for the Scrappy Mom's Create a Critter challenge.

Create a Critter Cricut cartridge
Don Juan Cricut cartridge
Cappuccino Twine from The Twinery

Turn That Frown Upside Down

Have you ever seen something someone has made and been so in awe of it, that you just had to try something like it? Well this is what happened to me last night. My fellow Creative Time design team member Miss Nikki AKA: Scrappin' Navy Wife made the cutest astronaut spinner card. If you haven't seen it, you have got to check it out! It is OUT of this WORLD ADORABLE! Click HERE to link to Nikki's awesome card and blog.

So like I said I couldn't get the idea out of my head. My daughter saw it too and wanted a girly version made for her. I put on my thinking cap and pulled out my Gypsy and this is what I came up with. I only put two different faces on mine, but it is still super fun to play with. Part of the inspiration came from Emma's (My Creative Time's) adorable stamp set 'Turn That Frown Upside Down'. I knew that sentiment would be perfect because I would litterally be turning the frowny face into a smiley face- LOL. So here is the frown:

And here is the SMILE - aren't those Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kid face stamps THE CUTEST?!!!

Here is a super short video showing how the card works. Thanks for looking.

Once again - total props to awesome Nikki - Scrappin' Navy Wife!!! And thanks for dropping by!

And make sure to head on over and see all the other beautiful projects by Emma and her Design Team.

*My Creative Time stamps - Polka Dot SURPRISE

Just a Note

I finally got my Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge completed. I wanted to use one of the little mail boxes like the design team had used, but I wanted to make it a year round mail box. We already have Valentine's Day ones that we decorated last year. I think we will have fun leaving each other little 'love' notes in the mail box all year. It is very simple but I like it.

So that is a side view and here is a front view:

Items Used:

*Mailbox from Target's Dollar Spot
*Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge for the sentiment
*Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge for the music notes and for the hearts. I welded the hearts to the music notes in my Gypsy to make them 'love' notes.
*Peachy Keen Stamps - Simple Sallies & Simple Simons
*Ribbon from Pebbles Inc.
*Sakura White Gellyroll pen
*Black Bic Ultrathin Marker

'It's My Birthday and I Quill If I Want To' Blog Hop

We are celebrating Linda's birthday with a blog hop! Thanks Linda for inviting me to join in the fun. If you came here from Debbie's blog you are in the right place. If not, then you can start out at the beginning by going to Linda's blog. I'm certain you won't want to miss a single stop.

Well onto my card. I do not know how to quill and was running out of time to learn before the hop (LOL). In the end I cheated and used some quilled stickers that my sweet Mommy had given me quite a while back. I think they are a really fun design. I also used Emma's beautiful Polka Dot SURPRISE stamps for the sentiment. This card is definitely a different style than normal for me, but I like to try new things and I'm really liking the end result. I hope you like it too.

For blog candy Linda (My Quilling Nest) is giving away one stamp set of choice from My Creative Time. Each stop will choose a random winner from their blog comments and then each of those names will go in for a chance at the stamp set. The random winner from my post will get their name in the final drawing but they will also get a small prize from me. The hop ends tonight (February 15th, 2011) so make sure to get your comment in tonight. For my candy you do not have to follow my blog but if you would like to I would LOVE it. I am giving away a sheet of Provo Craft quilled stickers (donated by my Mom), a small sampling of baker's twine from The Twinery and 5 Action Wobbles (pictured below - sorry about the glare it was the best picture I could get). Also don't forget that Linda is having a quick Ustream and some extra prizes at 10:00 PM EST (9 Central, 8 MTN, 7 Pacific).

***Your next stop on the hop is the very talented Leanne.***

Emma's Stamptastic Blog Hop

Welcome to Emma's Stamptastic Blog Hop. We are so glad you could join us! We are celebrating Emma's newest release of stamps. If you got here from Katie's blog you are headed in the right direction, if not make sure you start back at Emma's blog because you don't want to miss anything.

For my project I was asked to use the Polka Dot SURPRISE set of stamps. These are SO cute! Do you love polka dots? I know I do!!! I used the cute 'May you dreams come true' sentiment for the title of my Minnie Mouse layout.

(You can always click on the photo to see some the details closer if you would like)

What is a blog hop without BLOG candy. The sweet and generous Emma is donating a set of Polka Dot SURPRISE stamps to a random commenter on my blog. To qualify for the stamp set you will need to make a comment on EVERYONE's post along the blog hop route (9 stops total). I will select a random winner from among my comments on this post and then I will verify that you have commented on everyone's post. Pretty easy right, and definitely well worth the chance at a set of beautiful stamps at every stop. You will have until Sunday night, February 13th, 2011, to comment.

Here is my scrapbook page title that was made with the Polka Dot SURPRISE stamps that you could win and below that is a picture of all of the stamps in this adorable set:

Your next stop will be the wonderful and talented Leanne. I know she has something amazing planned for you so hop on over and give her some love.

TOO Cute to Eat!

I've been meaning to post this for a few days. This is totally unrelated to paper crafting but I got such a kick out of it. The other night I made these little beauties...

"What are they?" you might ask. They are Mickey icon shaped biscuits. I only made four Mickey ones the rest were all regular non-Mickey biscuits. At the end of dinner no one had eaten a Mickey biscuit except for me. When I asked, "Why?" the reply was that, "They are TOO cute to eat." There you have it! LOL. I hope you are all having a great night.

Oh yes, and don't forget to join us for Emma's design team blog hop tomorrow morning. There will be lots of awesome projects and some amazing prizes!!!! I hope to see you there! Hugs- Glora

You are a Star!

Well, I finally got to put together my Peachy Keen Challenge entry, I knew what stamp I wanted to use almost from the moment I saw the sketch. Now I'm just getting around to making it. It was a monochromatic sketch (also allowing for white and black). I had a lot of fun with this challenge. Thanks for all of the fun PKS! The star stamp is by Peachy Keen Stamps PK-M20 you are a star... and the sentiment 'to my daughter' is from My Creative Time's Mom You ROCK!

If you are interested in cutting a star out that will fit this cute 'you are a star...' stamp perfectly, then read on.
You will need to use the regular shaped star from George and Basic shapes. In your Gypsy size it to 2.25" height. Then you will have to undo the lock size button so that you can change the width proportion of the star (without changing the height). In the end you want a star that is 2.25" by 2.25". I think it was the perfect size. I also cut out a black star 2.5" by 2.5" as a mat for the yellow star.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Items Used:

*George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge
*Gypsy
*Peachy Keen Stamps - you are a star...
*My Creative Time - Mom You ROCK!

I used Emma's super sweet stamp set called 'You Had Me at Chocolate.' These stamps are GORGEOUS! The design is beautiful and they are peachified so they stamp like a dream. I hope you all get the chance to join us for the challenge and take a look at what the other talented design team members whipped up.

Simply Crafts with Glora and Pam

Hello sweet friends! Today is the start of a fun challenge between me and my sweet crafty friend Pam at Simply-Pam. The first Wednesday of each month we are going to challenge each other to make something using a specific cut from a certain cartridge. This fun challenge was Pam's idea and so she chose the cut for this month. The cut is the clothes line from the Straight from the Nest cartridge.

I had to add my own little touch to the clothing by adding a Mickey icon. I also wanted the clothes line to go all the way across and so I changed that a little as well.

The sentiment for my card is from the My Creative Time - Mom You ROCK stamp set. I must admit that doing laundry isn't my favorite part of being a mom but those sweet little girl hugs and kisses make it all worth it. They are the best!

I can't wait to see what the very talented Pam has come up with for our challenge. I hope you will check it out. Pam is SUPER talented and makes BEAUTIFUL cards and projects. Click HERE to go to Pam's blog you won't be disappointed.
