Birthday Greetings ... Dutch Style

This is a birthday card that was made for another one of my nephews. He lived in the Netherlands for a couple of years so I thought it would make a good birthday card for him.

I used the Destinations cricut cartridge. I popped it up with dimensionals and stamped Happy Birthday on it with Navy ink. It is a pretty simple card but I like how it turned out.

Play Ball !!!

Here is the fun baseball mit shape card I made for my nephew's birthday! I hope he likes it. I had a lot of fun making it and trying to make it look like a real baseball mit. Happy Birthday Brett!

I used the baseball mit from Everyday Paper Dolls, the circle is from George, and Brett is the Gypsy font. I welded small circles from George around the edge of the card so that I could lace the card with some thin leather. The card is popped up with dimensionals. It really was a little tricky lacing the card with the leather but the effect in person is really very neat and so worth the effort! Below is a side view of the card.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 27

Can I say, I had SO much fun with this challenge! An idea popped into my head on Tuesday, on Wednesday, I was able to sneek in a little time to design it on my Gypsy. On Thursday, my baby took a good nap and I was able to cut the card and put it together. Today I added the last few touches and voila, my card.

I love that the butterfly wings kind of flap when you pick it up. Here is a backside view.
And this is a front side view. Fun, fun, fun.
I used core'dinations cardstock along with some other paper from my stash. I used Peachy Keen Stamps set PK-502A Funshine Faces Side Views 3/4" for the cute butterfly face. I used the following Cricut cartridges: Wild Card for the card base, George for the circle, 50 States for the flower, and Mickey and Friends for the butterfly. Then I added a sentiment, some blush for the cheek, a little doodling, some inking, a few rhinestones and ribbon.
Below is the color palette and images that helped to inspire my card. Thanks for looking.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 26

It is time for another Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge. For this challenge we were supposed to make a card that contained the following items:

1. Stitching (either by sewing needle or hand-drawn)
2. White and Orange (card could have more colors, but must include these two in the card)
3. Contain one upcycled item (something that could be thrown away but instead will make its way onto your work of art!)
4. Any Peachy Keen Stamp
Here is my card:I used Peachy Keen Stamps set PK-M16 You are my sunshine. Isn't it such a cute set? I colored it with my Prismacolor pencils and then I blended them. I designed the card on my Gypsy. The circle and the sentiment rectangles are from George, the scalloped circle is from Mini Monograms, and the card is from Don Juan (it is on the stitched function key). I hand sewed around the card and added some ribbon as well. My upcycled item was actually part of a cardboard box we were going to throw out. I used the cardboard to pop up my sentiment and the sunshine instead of using pop dots.

GR8 2B 33!

My incredible husband just celebrated his 33rd birthday. He is REALLY into collecting and entering My Coke Rewards points. So my little girl had a plan, she wanted to make her daddy's birthday theme using powerade caps. She is SO cute and VERY creative. She gathered some powerade caps and we made a little box for them. (We used tags bags & boxes cricut cartridge for the box and the tag, Sans serif is for the font which we welded using the Gypsy, the circle caps on the sides were cut from a a blackout tag from tags bags and boxes too). According to my dd the sides of the box had to have 'caps' with codes on them, this evolved into the theme for my dh's birthday GR82B33.

Here is the card my daughter made for her daddy (notice the black cap & code):

Here is the birthday card and cake I made him (the card is SUPER simple and the cake would have been better if we would have remembered that we were out of ingredients for the frosting. Oh well, we had fun making it and he enjoyed it too and I guess that is what matters most). We used Don Juan for the font (I don't have the Cricut Create machine that Don Juan comes with but I was able to get it with reward points from Cricut rewards). It is a fun cartridge.

MPS Color Challenge

Blogger was not working for me last night. So I posted my entry on my regular website. For this challenge we were supposed to use the colors green pink & black. So here is my 'so sweet watermelon.'

I used Doodlecharms for the watermelon and welded it into a shape card using my Gypsy. Then I added some black doodling, some stamps for the seeds and sentiment and a little bow. Enjoy!

Mickey Icon Birthday Card

This card was fun. I love Disney and this added a subtle Disney touch.

I used Gypsy Wanderings for the Happy Birthday and Plantin Schoolbook and Disney font for the scalloped Mickey border. I used ribbon from my collection as well as a prima flower and a couple of rhinestones. Have a great day!

Elmo 1st Birthday Shape Card

One of my niece's just turned one this week. This is the card I made for her birthday! Happy 1st birthday!

I used my Gypsy to weld the card together and I used the Sesame Street Font cartridge for the image. Simple but fun, especially for the little ones who love Sesame Street.

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Today is my sweetheart's birthday, so I thought I would post his favorite of my newest batch of birthday cards.

This is simple and yet kind of elegant. The paper is coordinations. The ribbon is from my stash. I cut the lace scallop edge card and Happy Birthday from the Calligraphy Collection cricut cartridge and used my Gypsy as well. Hope you like it.

Butterfly Kisses

Well it has been a wonderful Easter weekend with family, Easter celebrations, General Conference and SNOW. Yes, snow... I need a little springtime warmth at the moment, so it is time to share my butterfly shape card. This was a birthday card for my niece that just turned 4.

This butterfly is from the New Arrival cricut cartridge. She is cut in blackout so I could stamp her cute face with my Peachy Keen Stamps (I used PK-495). A happy birthday stamp, some outline doodling, rosey cheeks, a little bling and voila.

Happy Easter!

This is a simple tri fold card that I made my parents for Easter.

This is the outside of the tri-fold

You lift the flap and this is what you see and then I left the inside empty so we can all add a little Easter message.
The paper is coordinations, the Cricut cartridges used are Stamped (Happy/tag), Designer's Calendar (Easter), George (rectangles), Doodlecharms (egg), and Mickey Mouse font (MM icon). The dotted scallop edge is a fiskars edge punch. I hope you all have an amazing Easter.

Have an UDDER-ly marvelous April Fools

I thought I would post the cow shape card I made for my sister-in-law's birthday. She LOVES COWS!!! Especially the black and white ones. We found her some cute (in our opinion) cow slippers for her birthday so a cow card to go with it was tres neccessaire!

This card was made using my Gypsy and my Cricut. I used the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge - for the cow, and Pooh and Friends - for the cute present. Last of all I added a little outlining, some black brads for the eyes and a prima flower with a rhinestone center.
